Memorial Day Weekend

Today is Tuesday, May 27, 2003. The Memorial Day weekend just ended and now it is back to work. We had three days of rain, heavy rain, Noah's Ark rain, over the weekend. The best part was being forced to stay inside and do stuff that new home owners do.

One other thing. We used our fireplace for the first time this weekend. Since it is the unofficial start of summer, no place had wood to sell. So we ended up burning old pieces of wood that we had in the garage and basement. We didn't get down to the studs and support beams - we burned old useless pieces of wood.

That's about it. Nothing exciting. I have to post some new pictures, comment on golf and Iran, but that's for another time.

President Bush

For the record, I think it was pretty damn cool how Bush flew onto the aircraft carrier. I know the left wing nuts are coming out against it and want to know how much it cost taxpayers, but no way in hell Clinton could have come close to doing that. No way. And I think it pumped up the mostly young, 3,000+ underpaid and under appreciated people who serve on that ship. But that?s just my opinion.

Softball info

Click here to get to my softball team info. Nothing special - even the look and feel is different - but it works. We had our first game this past Monday. Last year, in the same league, we went 2-22. That is two wins, and twenty two loses. Oh yeah, it was bad. We had some 'problems' on the team and some 'incidents' throughout the year, but decided to forge ahead and try it again. We revamped, got rid of some dead wood, got some new guys, and are off to a running start.

The game Monday had us losing by a lot, then we took the lead into the top of the 7th (softball games only play 7 innings), gave up the tying run in the 7th, made a great play to get their go-ahead run out at the plate, then won the game with no outs in our last licks. Good times for all. We'll see how it goes.
