Fever Pitch

First, this nonsense with congress getting involved in the steroid issue is a joke. But that’s a discussion for another time.

Red Sox fans, when sober, can be pretty funny when giving me a hard time about my love of all things NY Yankees. Last week I was away and my wife called me to tell me a gift, gift wrapped and all, was in the mail box for me.

Great, I thought, I love gifts.

So when I got home I opened it up and there was a note from Tim, my mailman, a Red Sox fan but otherwise good guy, with the movie Fever Pitch and a packet of microwave popcorn. For those who forgot, Fever Pitch was a movie that came out in 2005 with Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon. Actually kind of funny but right around the time fake Sox fans around the country started jumping on the band wagon because they just won the World Series.

Haha, very funny, how about more salt in the wound. Less we forget that at one time, not too long ago, Sox fans had spent 86 years without a title. My time will come again, trust me, it will come.

In case you were wondering, I like my mailman, and pretty much all mail people, because my mother worked for the post office for almost 25 years. Not the easiest job in the world.

So to Tim, thanks for the gift and I appreciate the sense of humor.
