Dick Cheney takes a shot at..well, another human
Nice going Richard ! Good job. You shot someone. At least you hit a lawyer. Give Scott McClellan a break why don’tcha. He’s got enough to worry about with George that he doesn’t need you shooting people. Jeez, could you make it any worse? What were you thinking? Were you drinking when you shot the guy? That poor press secretary, I want to hug the little guy he’s so cute.
Now, I am not going to pass judgment, I am not a hunter so I could be wrong, but I swear the goal is to hit the bird. Not the old bird. And could you image the crazy protests if he hit a democrat? Every gun shop in the country would be torched.
Right now a Secret Service sign, written by hand on a chalk board in some coffee hut, that read ‘Days Since Last Shooting…’ was turned back to zero.
Mr. Vice President, read the NRA Revocation clause in your membership contract. Something tells me shooting someone else while quail hunting is not on the ‘this is good’ column.
And David Gregory, I like how you grill McClellan, I really do, it makes you look important, but you SUCK hosting the Today Show. And I can't quite place my finger on it, but you are funny looking. Odd. Like a really good caricature of a tall guy.
And remember, guns don't kill people, vice presidents do.
On a serious note, when a story comes out about a high profile republican, my initial reaction is that the news is out to get him or her. Like them or not, republicans are blasted in the extremely liberal press whether they deserve it or not. But this thing is serious. Cheney could have killed a guy, and could have been brought up on serious charges. The last thing this country needs right now is a rich white guy out bird hunting with his rich white friends to do something stupid like this and embarrass the president some more. Remember Dan Quayle? The reality was that Dan Quayle was a brilliant guy who did a lot of good things for this country throughout his life. But he is remembered for spelling ‘potato’ wrong and making some other interesting comments. Well, Dick Cheney is a bright guy who a lot of people, me included, think is very strong. But what he did is inexcusable. I am the farthest thing from a VP of anything and even I know that the person holding the gun is responsible for the safety of himself and all around him. To shoot someone else is crazy. This one time I will let the press corp grill Cheney’s camp because he deserves the embarrassment.
