ARod Finally Comes Through

I am not going to start talking about David Ortiz. I was a fan of him before, at least as much of a fan as I can be of someone on the Red Sox, and after I read the Sports Illustrated article on him, I am a bigger fan. But I can’t stand all this crap on the radio about how clutch he is. Yeah, I get it. He is good. He hits walk-off home runs. He is the best hitter in baseball right now. For the love of all things, STOP TALKING ABOUT HIM. The only other thing worse on EEI right now is that they won’t stop talking about Brett Myers. Give it a freakin break already. Let it go. Find something else to talk about, like female bowling or something.

So let’s get back to ARod. I am a faithful Yankee fan. I usually defend Yankee players until my brain bleeds from believing my own lies. But I am starting to turn on ARod like the rest of Yankee fans out there. If he doesn’t start coming through, and SOON, I am going to get really nasty.

Let this be a warning ARod, improve your pathetic game or all gloves are off.

NOTE: I wrote the piece above during the 10th inning of yesterday’s game. ARod hit useless single with two outs and none on early in the game, and he blew a couple of chances later in the game. I was getting sick of it because I knew the Sox would beat up on another National League team and I wanted ARod to do something. Well, he hit a walk-off two run shot in the bottom of the 12th with the Yanks trailing by one run. Good for him. The pressure is off a little and hopefully he will get into a groove.
