Yanks are not doing well, I know, let it go
Not good times right now for us Yankee fans. Nope. Our team has been losing some games, in bad ways, while those of use in Boston have to watch the Sox win game after game. EEI and the local papers highlight the great Red Sox teams, the wonderful play of Alex Gonzalez who is the best infielder to ever play the game, how Youkilis can play every position including team kicker, Loretta is more than expected, Trot is the next Sammy Sosa, and on and on and on. It’s enough to make me sick. And sick I am.
So back to the Yankees. Not good times. To be honest, I don’t have the energy right now, or the will, to get into it. I don’t have the stomach to talk about the relief pitching, how Rivera’s paint is cracking, how ARod has to be the great player and great leader that is inside him, how eventually the young guys like Cabrera will stop producing, how Mussina needs to STOP losing streaks. I just don’t have it in me right now. This is the first time since 1994 that I am worried. Really worried. If Torre can pull this out and make the playoffs, he should win manager of the year, despite what that relic in Detroit is doing.
You know what I hate. Freakin Newark airport and Continental airlines for making me LATE EVERY TIME I FLY THERE. Why, sweet god of travel, do you mock me so. I need you to leave me alone.
So getting back to the agony of watching the Sox win while my beloved Yankees are tanking it. Look, teams go through losing streaks. They all do. No matter how good they are. The Sox are gelling, and the Yanks are losing some. It’s the game of baseball and why a 162 game season is why I don’t get upset day to day. In the end, I truly believe the Yanks will win the division and hope to catch lightening in the bottle during the playoffs.
Peace out.
