Ortiz - Jeter
I have had a rough month, and considering the dramatic fall of the Sox, it could not have come at a better time. But I need to surface for a sec about one thing
"Ortiz, in a postgame interview with reporters at Fenway Park on Sunday, said he deserves to win the MVP, and if he doesn't get it, he listed three others. None was named Jeter.
Why not? Because he doesn't think Jeter, a non-slugger, should get serious consideration.
So what does Jeter think about that? "I'm not thinking about winning an MVP, I'm thinking about winning the division," he said. "Our focus here isn't on individual awards. We've still got something to play for."
My love for Ortiz just dropped a little. And the Yankees continue to show why they are the Rolls Royce of baseball. Stick with a winner and let the Sox, and even lovable players like Ortiz, make fools of themselves.
