Schill's sock
First of all, I hate those cut nicknames they have in baseball. Everything either ends is a 'Y' or cuts the actual name in half. Wakey pitched on Monday and Schill pitched last night. It bugs me.
Mother-of-all-things-holy how did I not latch on to this earlier. Schilling painted his sock in the classic 2004 post season game and IT WAS NOT BLOOD.
La madre de Dios how did I miss THIS!! DAMN IT!! Apparently, according to the Globe, this rumor has surfaced before. I need to let this sit for a while but think I am going to run with it. Just wish I said something two a half years ago.
And my love for Schilling grows.
