I am finding being a grandpa is a lot better than I thought it would be. Pretty much ever since my children were young I knew someday I would be a grandpa. It was never a scary thought or anything like that. As my children aged I actually looked forward to it.

In the close to 7 months since my grandson's birth he has changed so much. Maybe because I don't see him everyday I think the changes have come more rapidly than what I remember of my kids growing over their early days. I am truly amazed by the transformation so far.

I may just be a bit bias here but there is no doubt in my mind that my grandson is gifted. The little guy is progressing quite rapidly in his motor skills and his ability to get around. He is quite inquisitive and observant right now.

Right now Sean is moving around with ease. His dad calls it the walrus crawl. Sean gets up on his hands and knees, as if he was going to crawl, then leans forward and flops down onto his chest and belly. This method of travel works quite well for him.

I enjoy watching him as he looks at stuff. The other day I was holding him and he seemed very interested in something on the walk. I looked to see what he might be watching and there was this tiny ant crawling along. We watched that one ant scurry about for quite sometime. Any kind of movement seems to catch his attention.

There are so many things that I look forward to doing and seeing with him and my future grandchildren. I know in due time our moments will come.
