Super Bowl XXL
This Sunday is Super Bowl 40. A big deal I guess. For the most part, the Super Bowl is like Survivor or the Golden Globes – people watch more for the event and really don’t care or remember who wins. For me, I am about as excited to watch the Super Bowl as I am about which movie will be on the Oxygen channel this Sunday night. I don’t really care about Pittsburgh or Seattle. Neither team has a story behind it or players that are really exiting. I guess it’s kind of nice that the ‘Bus’ might win, I suppose. Boring. Yawn. Close eyes and drift away.
But like any sporting event this big, I’ll watch. And here is my prediction. It will be a very high scoring game, like 38-34 with Pittsburgh winning.
Or it will be very low scoring with Seattle winning, something like 7-3.
Or one team will totally collapse and get killed, like Seattle losing 27-3.
Or both teams will not show up because they are hung over, so it will end in a 0-0 tie.
Or some how we will go back in time and make it more interesting with either the Colts having a perfect season and this could make Indianopolis’ record 19-0 with Peyton Manning finally overcoming his demons. Or the Pats could be going for 4 out of the 5 and 3 in a row. Something like that if we could go back in time. If only we could.
So my prediction is Seattle winning 21-17 with it being a very close and exciting game.
Shaun Alexander will run for 62 yards and have no touchdowns but Matt Hasslebeck will come through in this game, the high point of his career. And finally people will realize he exists.
Jerome Bettis will run for 124 yards, 2 touchdowns, Ben Roethlisberger will collapse under the pressure but the Steelers will win by 10 points.
So there it is. My prediction for the game.
