Changing the Toilet

I changed the toilet in one of our bathrooms this past weekend. Exciting, I know. I was going to have a plumber do it while he is here on Tuesday (to cap a gas line for our dryer, I am hiring a plumber to do what would take me 15 minutes to make sure my home owners insurance is covered in the event something bad happening). I thought that I would pay someone to change the toilet so I could save myself the time, but I hate to do that. It would probably cost me 150 bucks and I am so cheap that Sunday morning I woke up and decided to try it myself.

It was a piece of cake. It took my about 2 and a half hours but a lot of that time was spent scrapping off old caulk that was on the floor from the first unit. Plus I always take my time with something like this because I have never done it before and am process oriented so I make sure I go through all the steps. Plus I had to go to Home Depot once so that was at least 30 minutes.

Anyway, it wasn't the most glamorous thing to do with my Sunday but it's done and another checkmark on the list of manly things I have done.

Thought I'd share.
