Red Sox Game 1 ALDS
I don’t take too much stock in today’s outcome. Matt Clement has had a terrible second half of the year. And let’s be honest, as much as you might downplay it, getting hit in the head with a line drive really affects a pitcher. I am surprised they left him in so long though. And Contreras is good but not that good and I thought the Sox hitters would put up more runs.
Momentum is only as good as the next day’s pitcher. So if Wells, who is a big game pitcher, can turn in a gem tomorrow then it’s even again and today’s game means nothing.
With that said, I like my chances with Wakefield in game three as long as the weather is not too hot.
Eff the Red Sox, I am glad they got embarrassed today. Bunch of no-class morons.
I heard that Mike Adams got the 7 to 12 gig on WEEI. Great news, I love Mike more than almost any of the other EEI guys but what happened to Teddy? I know he is a condescending blowhard with no sense of humor, but he called a good BC basketball game.
Oh, one other thing. Keep putting Kevin Millar in. I love Olerud but he is overrated and there is not much of an offensive difference between him and Millar. Damon is hurting and what are they going to do with middle relief.
And that’s another thing. I know the White Sox took a lot of shit with winning 99 games in a terrible division, and their record against AL East teams is not too great, but they were 6-2 against Baltimore, 11-7 against Minnesota, 3-3 against NY and 3-4 against the Red Sox and 4-2 against Toronto, not bad stats. Pitching has been hot the last two weeks and the Sox are struggling.
