Going to get swept?

Even though the Yankees won the AL East and celebrated at Fenway, and even though they won it with much worse circumstances this year than the Sox, people in Boston STILL are bashing the Yankees. Now it’s “they will get swept by the Angels”. Ugh.

And that’s another thing. Why did Texas take out their freakin starters. They knew what was on the line. I am now glad the Yanks kicked their ass in the first round for those years in the 90s.

So the Yanks head out the California. Big deal. Maybe they will get swept but if I were a Red Sox fan, I would not feel too good about Clement in game one and Wakefield in game two. Clement has been getting hit like piñata and Wakefield, and nothing against Wake, I like him, pitches a style that doesn’t work well in cool dry weather. In the heat of the summer when it’s 95 and extremely humid his ball jumps. But he is not the type of guy who can just turn it up a notch to win the big games. A lot of his effectiveness has to do with the weather. So that is the first two games. David Wells is a big game pitcher so no problems there. Now, for the Yanks, why start Mussina in game one? I don’t get it. He is hurt. I like Chacon going game two and Johnson game three but I do question why not use Smalls earlier in the series. Maybe they want him for long relief is Mussina or any of the others gets shelled.

Oh, that reminds me. Yeah, I know playing the Angels is tough, but Chicago is no walk in the park either. Sweeping three against Cleveland when they had no reason to win was pretty impressive.

It all starts tomorrow. The weakest Yankee team since they started their run in 1996 hopefully will pull this out and put an end to this miserable year. I need to get the upper hand back.
