Yankees clinch playoff spot for 2007
Good win last night and nice to get in the post season. I’d be lying if I said I don’t care about the division though. The main reason it will suck to give up the division title is because now I get to hear Red Sox homers go
“nah nah ha ha…we won the division…Yankees SUCK…what have you won lately?...we have a World Series before you…we OWN the division now…it’s not 2006 anymore, it’s a new year and what have you won lately?”
Wonderful. And I know who the first person is who will rub it in my face. Just remember Red Sox losers, it’s not about the division, it’s about…oh f**k it, in part it is about bragging rights in the division.
So there was a pretty big celebration in the club house after the game. I think it’s more because of the huge uphill battle the Yanks had to fight to get here than it is to get in the post season. Getting to the playoffs is a requirement if you play for the Yankees, but getting there after being so far behind on June 1 is an accomplishment.
So now on to bigger and better things. Rest the players and tune up your pitching, because there is nothing to play for at this point.
One other thing. Manny Ramirez doesn’t play for 4 weeks, a span in which the Sox go 500 and almost give up the division. Then he comes back and those mouth breathing dolts at Fenway treat him like he is a conquering general coming back from Germania. What the eff? I said this before, Manny could murder someone and the Red Sox lemmings would kiss the ground he walks on because he’s one of the best hitters in the last 30 years. I don’t get it, I just don’t.
