Red Sox - Yankees Game 1 of 18
Well that wasn't fun. Total implosion. At least I got to watch it in a bar on the east end of Long Island and people were already pissed off about the Islanders losing. It was a nice tribute, but those green jerseys looked awful. And Manny looked like he was ready to roll with his boys on a Saturday night in his old Bronx neighborhood. In fact, the entire team looked ridiculous, different color long sleeve undershirts, ugly shade of green for the jerseys , hats on backwards. It was like my old softball team when we didn't have a sponsor.
I was driving from NYC to the east end late afternoon and was listening to Mike and the Mad Dog on WFAN. They were talking about Fenway and Boston in general and I have to agree with two things they both said. First, there is no better baseball town then Boston. When the Red Sox are playing, you walk down Comm Ave and every one is wearing a Sox cap or some other Red Sox item. NY has way too much going on for it to focus just on the Yankees. THe second thing is I have to agree that seeing a game at Fenway is a more "magical" experience than Yankee stadium. Its the entire package. I hate to admit to both because i love the Yankees, but truth is truth.
Dave out.
PS. Not feeling great about Karstens and Wright going the remaining two games. Not feeling great at all.
